The music of the pearly

I think that the pearl is a plain object. It is really just a rock, so why is it so important. Its important because we make it worth something. In the story the pearl wasn't evil it was the people who had greed and evil with in them selves .The pearl only brings out what the people all ready had with in them selves. It was never the pearl who completely change the people it was the people. The reason the author said what he said was because he was telling us that the pearly is really the innocent one in it all. All the people had a little evil song and greed within them selves. The music was there to show that the pearl was beautiful and completely innocent. the pearl will always be blamed for the people's greed. In truth it will always be innocent.

Amanda! Interesting point of view, I never thought of the pearl that way and I'm intrigued. I thought the fact that you defended the pearl and explained how it was in fact the people who were the ones to blame, was cool and made me rethink my own opinions. Although you explained well what the motif symbolized, you didn't discuss how it affected the society or Kino's family, which I am very curious about. You made a fabulous connection of the symbolism of the pearl and made your comment very fun. My favorite line from your blog post was definitely, "All the people had a little evil song and greed within them selves." I thought this was fantastic since you explained how their were songs within us. You're blog pretty good, but I still wanted to know more about how the pearl affected the people's life's. You met standard. Good job :)
